The Birth of a Blog

I wanted to be so many different things when I grew up. A doctor. A marine biologist. What did I become? It was neither of the two things I just mentioned. I had a few odd jobs as a young adult, but I found myself head over heels in love with my dream guy. I was married at 20 and a new mom right before my 22nd birthday. We went through some financial hard times like most young couples. I eventually ended up with a job at one of the best places to work in my little town. I was able to move up the corporate ladder and landed myself in a supervisory position. The pay was good, the benefits were good. Now, a LOT happened during this time that I may share later, but let’s fast forward to December 2016.

After 17 years and 10 months of employment with “one of the best places to work in my little town”, I found myself unemployed. In 2016, I celebrated 20 years of marital bliss with that same dream guy I fell head over heels in love with. We celebrated the 19th birthday of daughter number 1 and the 12th birthday of daughter number 2. We celebrated my 41st birthday and his 40th birthday. So to put that in simpler terms, after almost 18 years of employment with the same company, I’m all of a sudden unemployed at the age of 41. Guess who doesn’t have a degree? Ding Ding Ding!!! Me!!

Fast forwarding to today, March 2017.

I had this bright idea, after lengthy online searching for jobs….I’m gonna start a blog! I heard the flicker of the light bulb over my head. Now, the heavens did not open. There was no sound of angels singing. You can probably guess the mood I’m in after the lengthy job search, hence the title of Just Blog It. I’ll let you figure that one out. I sit here at my table trying to create a blog. I know nothing about blogging or website creation. I do enjoy reading so my thinking is I enjoy reading, I enjoy writing…this could work. I guess that remains to be seen.

Happy Birthday Blog! I hope your life is long lived with many stories to share.

  1. Welcome to wordpress and the world of blogging. I’m a student now and have been for a while. Blogging is fun, you can be as creative as you want (and though I’m personally not very creative, I’ve seen very creative posts out there) and you can still stay pretty anonymous while doing so. Enjoy!
