Some days you feel like you are on top of the world and no one can bring you down. Some days you feel like you can’t do anything right. Some days you can’t stop smiling. Some days you can’t stop crying. Why? I have no idea. Good things happen. Bad things happen. They just happen and they happen to everyone. However, we don’t all cope the same.
Some people are optimistic. Some people are pessimistic. Some people are just realists. Some people believe there is good in everyone. Some people believe there is a dark side to everyone. Some people walk around with a smile on their face all the time. Is that smile real? Is that smile fake? Is that person hiding behind a smile because they want to appear strong?
Smile through the pain. Fake it till you make it. Kill them with kindness. All things I’ve heard for many years. Does it work? For a little while. What are the possibilities? For some, the pain subsides. For some, faking it works. For some, kindness erases all negativity. For others, these things are only temporary.
What happens when the smile fades, but the pain hasn’t? What happens when you can no longer fake it but you’ve not made it? What happens when negativity oversteps kindness? Some of us can only be strong for so long. We didn’t just quit though. We just stopped for a little bit. For some, a little bit can be a day or two. For others, weeks, months, and maybe even years.
It’s all too easy for judgement to be passed by those that are, what? Insecure? Jealous? Rude? What makes a person want to judge others? Several factors, I suppose. We’ve all passed judgement at some point or time for whatever reason and we’ve all been the victim of others judgement. It’s not fun to be the butt of someone’s joke. It doesn’t feel good when you are turned into the laughing stock of any situation. But it happens and it happens too often.
This is life. You may live with a disease or disorder, maybe an impairment or disability, but it’s still life. Some would say they can only do with what they have. I say we should do ‘the best’ with what we have. At least try to do your best in everything you do. This is life. It’s not fair. It doesn’t pass judgement. It just happens. What we do with life is what matters.
Smile more often. Spread positivity. Smell the roses. Don’t give up. It’s not always easy, but it can be done. Why? It’s just life.
